The new GPM uses a Japanese made Dual Winding Movement (DWM), which can be manually wound by the crown or by use of the automatic self-winding rotor (transferred energy caused by the movement of the wrist). With our new watch winding system, the user will notice that there is a mechanical noise and the rotor can be felt oscillating; reassuring the user that the automatic winding system is performing as intended. Once fully wound the GPM will run for approximately 41 hours without the need to be wound again. The case of the GPM is made from high-impact fibershell, which is designed to minimize weight without sacrificing quality or durability. Applied on the dial, minute, and hour hands are self-contained Tritium gas filled tubes, which ensure a constant glow for maximum low-light visibility. Tritium is a trusted source of illumination for military equipment, from watches to aeronautical displays, firearm sights, and binoculars. Tritium tubes generate their own illumination and do not require charging from an external light source the way luminescent paint does. The crystal lens of the new GPM is made from sapphire, ensuring the highest possible scratch resistance, legibility, and durability. This new sapphire crystal is 3mm thick, providing added durability and impact resistance. Adding to the overall durability and reliability is the upgraded water resistance of the new GPM - water resistant to 5ATM (50 meters/164 feet). Included with the new GPM is a one-piece nylon military strap, which is made in accordance with MIL-S-46383B Type II. It provides comfort and durability while remaining lightweight.
